New ProForm blog post is up, the first in a series of tutorials for developing extensions for ProForm:

ProForm Extensions - Sending an SMS Notification

ProForm has an extensive list of available hooks with which you can extend it’s behavior by writing fairly simple custom extensions. You can find a complete list and description of each hook on the ProForm Extension documentation page.

In this post, I’m going to walk you through a simple custom notification extension for ProForm, built using one of these hooks.
Let’s say you want to send an SMS notification out to a service technician when a particular form is filled out on your site. With ProForm, we can easily accomplish this using the Twilio API and a simple custom extension.

This add-on enables to login and register to ExpressionEngine website using popular social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, Yahoo etc. Allows you to grab much info about user from his social account. Based on Hybridauth library.

This project was rewarding in many ways, getting the Global Health team off a large-scale, enterprise .NET CMS and onto ExpressionEngine, and branching off from corporate branding guidelines to create an experience focused on story telling. We made it easy to manage photos, photo galleries, and videos and embed them throughout the site with the help of add-ons like Assets, CE Image and Antenna.

I’ve got some EECI info (important dates, actually) for you:

This year there will be two EECI events. On May, 30th - 31st the European community will gather in the Stadsgehoorzaal in Leiden, The Netherlands for the 3rd EECI EU. This time the focus will be on development. 10 speakers will go in-depth (1hour talks) on various hot topics - which I can’t share with you yet. Also, there will be plenty of room for debates, meetings and fun.
On Wednesday March, 7th (10am GMT+1) we’ll launch the conference website and announce the full line-up. Tickets will be available at launch.

At the moment we’re working hard on the EECI US event. I can’t share any details yet, but… on Monday March, 19th (1pm EST) we’ll announce this year’ city and line-up. Early Bird Tickets will be available on March, 21st.
