Not sure if this belongs in General Discussion but I’m sure a mod will move it if so.
Here goes.

I have a non super admin that needs to be able to update other members usernames and passwords. Currently they would need to know the previous password - anyone know of a way around this.

In synopsis: Basic site admin (not super) needs to update member usernames and passwords but without the current restriction of having to know the current password.

Ideas anyone? (apart from making them a Super Admin)

Have you got the current setting for the non super admin correct in ‘Member Groups’?

I have the Member Group set to Can administrate members accounts == Yes

But even set to that they would have to know the other members password to update their user:pass or they get the error message: In order to make changes you must submit the current password

I’ve just run a test and hit the same problem, maybe its one for the feature request, as i could see why this would be useful.

This isn’t a bug but is instead a security restriction. While we can’t promise anything, we do like to hear feature requests. Would you like me to move this to the Feature Request forum, John?

I didn’t think this was a bug. But you could see why this maybe useful, as you don’t want all admins having access to templates and configs

Oh sure, I can totally see it’s usefulness.
