I’ve been reading a fair amount about people trying to share fields or field group between MSM sites. There doesn’t seem to be a way to do this yet? Can someone let me know if there is a way to do this?

We have 4 sites in our MSM, each one is a different language that has a News Field Group, Press Field Group, and so on, which are identical in each of our 4 sites. We started be re-creating the field groups for each site, but this seems like overkill. A quick look in the MySQL Tables shows that exp_channel_fields, exp_channel_data etc all have a site_id row. So in theory we should be able to say “Use this field group on the following sites, or even simply ALL sites… and they would auto-magically appear in the drop down for channel field assignments.

Thanks for some direction on this. We are up to 454 fields in exp_channel_data, many of which are duplicate fields.

Did you ever find a solution to this. I’m having exactly the same issue. I ended up creating them for each but have now hit the size limit for the channel_data table with 2 sites left to create, which is a big issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
