Is there a way to arrange the order of the tabs in a publish layout, or do I really have to have my content tabs separated by “Date | Categories | Options | Pages” etc?

I must just be missing it.

Hi miromo,

On the right side of the Publish page you’ll see a link labelled “Show toolbar”. Click on that and you’ll see the toolbar slide in to a column on the right. You’ll then be in edit mode where if you click and drag the tabs above you’ll be able to reorder them.

You’ll also be able to show and hide them or edit their contents to suit your preferences via the toolbar on the right. Just make sure to “Save Layout” once you’re finished making changes and select the Member Group to associate it with. You’ll probably be in the Super Admin group but if you want any other group to see the same changes then make sure you tick the associated checkbox when saving the layout.

thx. Yes, I know where publish layouts are, how to save them etc. My question is: Can you order the tabs? Can you control which one shows up first second and so on…and if so, how?

As I said, you just need to click and drag to reorder whilst in Edit mode (the toolbar showing).

Yes you can. Click on show side toolbar. Drag the tabs around to where you want them, then on the right hand side near the bottom, click on Save Layout. You need to select at least one member group for the save to be successful.

What version of ExpressionEngine are you on?
