I am using one master RSS template for multiple blogs, embedding it into the RSS template for each blog.

Now I need to add a variable that renders the URL for whichever RSS is being accessed and I am blanking on the best way. There isn’t a ready-made variable that fetches RSS URL for a specific blog, is there?

Unfortunately, I am not on EE 2.x. But I don’t think that is quite what I am looking for anyway. I just need the best way to put a link back to the RSS feed itself in the RSS template, without hardcoding the link.

What’s your url structure like - for both the “normal” blog listing and the RSS?

Well, usually its just the base url for the site + template group + template. So http://www.site.com/news/rss20 in some cases and http://www.site.com/subsite/news/rss20 for some.

Odd - in your weblog prefs there is a field in the path settings for RSS URL, but I can’t find a variable to pull it.

I’d try using the weblog URL in that same Path config screen, and then you can use the exp:weblog:info tag to pull it with the {weblog_url} variable..

Yes, that’s exactly what puzzles me too. The setting is there, but there’s no variable.

    I’ll give that try. 😊
