I need to set up a file-sharing “portal” for a client, where my client can create a secure page for his clients to upload files, and where he can put files for them to download. I’ve been looking for a single add-on to handle that, but haven’t found anything that will allow upload and download for a specific entry for a specific user. Is anyone aware of something like that? I was thinking I could McGuyver something together using Protected Links (http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/protected-links) and SafeCracker file.

Or, is it possible to handle that with SafeCracker file alone?

    Hi mooo,

SafeCracker could handle all of that, as long as the users were logged in and assigned to the appropriate member group. If you needed users to manage multiple file, you might look at using Matrix as well, to hold multiple SafeCracker files for repeatable fields.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers!

Just tried to get something to work along these lines, but I can’t assign members to just one entry. I’m already using SolSpace’s User module, but it’s a real pain and not at all intuitive to assign an entry to a member.

    Hi mooo,

The scope of your question has is really more about “how to” involving third-party addons which are out of the scope of technical support. I’d be more than happy to move your thread to the community discussion forum where you could get help from others in the EE community.

Please let me know if you would like me to move the thread.

Nope, no solution so far. I sort of hacked something together, but I’m still looking for an adequate solution. No one seems to be working on anything like this. Could be a good opportunity for an EE add-on developer.

    Hi mooo,

I think you can work with the {logged_in_member_id} var and a member list custom field as Member List Custom Field or VMG Chosen Member .

I think VMG Chosen Member will be more useful for your client if you have a large amount of members.

if you need any more help you can PM me any time.

    Regards,

    Ahmad saad.
