    Hi guys,

I’m hoping you can help. I am unable to login to my EE install (front or back-end) on my iPhone. Some of my customers have also been complaining of the same issue.

Is there anything that springs to mind that could be causing this?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi smokyjoe007,

I’m sorry you are having trouble logging in via Mobile Safari. Can you tell me what version of ExpressionEngine you are having trouble with? With 2.2.2, and 2.3.1 I was able to login to the Control Panel and the front of my site without any problems. If you have an older version, it likely has the mobile theme that is no longer supported.

    Thanks!

    Hi Dan,

We’re currently up to date running 2.3.1. Do you have any other recommendations?

    Hi Joe,

I am unable to reproduce the trouble you are having. My only suggestion would be to enable the mobile Safari debugging console on your iPhone. You can do this by going into Settings->Safari->Advanced and turning on the console. Then, when you bring up the Control Panel, you can observe any errors that may be happening. What version of iPhone/iOS are you using when this happens?

    Thanks

    Hi Dan,

I turned on the debug console, but it does not show any errors. I tried switching on cookies (they are off by default) and then I was able to login.
This prompted me to go into EE and set the session type to ‘Session ID only’, but I still cannot login with cookies switched off.

Are there any other settings I can change?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi smokyjoe007,

Did you make sure to enable “Session ID only” for the Control Panel? I set my Control Panel to Session ID only and I was still able to login using Mobile Safari.

What do you have for Admin->Security and Privacy->Cookie Settings ?

    Cheers!
