I’ve created a page where an author has a page on the site, in which they have a bio followed by the last 10 articles that the author has posted.
Is there any way that I can add a “Subscribe to articles authored by X” link where the user will be notified when there are new posts from a given author?

Assuming you have something to identify the author in a URL segment (eg either member ID or username) you could use a standard RSS/ATOM feed template and populate it’s Channel entries tag with the author ID/username, that way you’d get a special feed URL for that author, eg site.com/profile/feed/23 where “feed” is the template name and 23 is the author ID
