    I’m not sure if these issues are related.  I deleted a secondary site in my MSM installation.  I then noticed that images on my main site were broken.  I inspected the HTML and found that each broken image had a src similar to:

    src="https://ellislab.com/asset/images/showcase/myimage.png"
    https://ellislab.com/asset/images/showcase/

    is not being interpreted anymore and that is why my images are not showing up.

    So.. any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks,
    Omkar

    Hi Omkar,

    If you take a look at your existing File Upload Destinations, do any of them have the ID 5? If not, you may have removed the pertinent file upload directory when you removed that secondary site in MSM. If that’s the case, you’ll just need to upload those images again to an existing directory and correct those file references in your templates.

    Hi Kevin,

    I ended up doing a restore of the DB (so that other MSM site is back) and the images show up fine on my main site now.  I’m still on EE1 and when I look in the File Upload Preferences I only see one entry (with an ID of 1).  If I look in the exp_upload_prefs table, I have 4 entries (one with an ID of 5) and they are all pointing to the same server_path and url.

    When I view one of the entries that had broken images in the exp_weblog_data table, I see that the image is referencing filedir_5.  I’m using Wygwam on all of my MSM sites and perhaps that could be part of the reason?  Would it be safe to find/replace all instances of filedir_5 with filedir_1?

    Let me know if you have any other ideas.

    Thanks,
    Omkar

    Omkar,

    That should be a safe change. However it would still be a good idea to back up your database in advance just in case.

    Thanks for the feedback Sean!  I tried it and it seemed to work just fine (took a backup just in case though).

    Excellent, glad to see you got it working now. Feel free to post again when you need some more help.
