So i enabled “Gzip output” (under “Output and Debugging Preferences”), and now there are a number of javascript errors that are appearing that previously weren’t. I subsequently updated my javascript files in the following directory: themes\site_themes\default_site\_assets.group and would like the newly updated javascript files to be used, however it seems the old error filled ones are still being used. What do i need to do? Should i clear cache, delete a gzip file, or….?

    Please help.

    Hi Lima Bean,

First off try clearing your cache. Do you have any caching set for your templates?

Personally I prefer using Javascript, jQuery and such outside of the templates. I add them to a folder in the root called /assets/js/jquery.js

    Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. It turns out the JS issue that i was experiencing was unrelated to EE. It turns out it was a brilliant retail issue.

    Apologies!

Putting all the javascript files in the root assets/js directory helped.

    Thanks.
