I have a new install of EE 2.3. I uploaded 2 new plugin (Google Reader and Feed Parser) to the plugins folder, but they are not showing up in the control panel.

Is there a permission or server setting that needs to be in place for plugins?

I can see Magpie and the native plugins, I just can’t add any.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    Hi Gavin,

Plugins don’t go into the plugins folder. I know that sounds really silly but that folder and also the modules and fieldtypes folders are only meant for 1st party add-ons to go into.

As you are adding 3rd party add-ons they need to go into the system > expressionengine > third_party folder in order for them to show up / work.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Ah right, should have known that one. Although, when I put them into the “system > expressionenigne > third_party folder they still don’t show up in the control panel under plugins. Would there be a permission issue. The other modules are fine, but there are the only plugins I have uploaded.

    Hi Gavin,

When you uploaded the plug-ins did you keep them inside their folders so that your directory structure would be system > expressionengine > third_pary > ajw_feedparser
