Wrong URL in file links

I have a intranet setup for a school that has changed its name which required a new domain. I’ve made the changes throughout the EE2 admin system but I still have the old URL popping up in places. Specifically, when I link to a PDF file or such. The URL generated has the old URL. (It works because that URL is still assigned to that hosting account but it isn’t the lead domain.)

I’ve changed the URL in the >system>expressionengine>config>config.php file but haven’t seen any results.

How can I make this change stick throughout the site? Which config am I missing?

    Thanks,

Would this link be inside a text/wygwam field per chance ? Or purely a standalone File field ?

If it’s inside a text field, the link is hard coded to whatever the site was when the entry was published and if that’s the case I worry for you.

    Hi ajdimac,

We have a handy guideline for Moving ExpressionEngine to Another Server. Can you have a read over that and double check that you made all those changes? I would take a particularly close look at the paths and URLs in your Upload Destination preferences.

Also, Cheif’s suggestion bears some looking into. Can you let us know if you were using Wygwam perhaps?

    Cheers!
