I spent a lot of time trying to track this down in the forums. Have replaced the themes folder several times. Verified jquery is being called, but I can’t get the “Add File ” window to open up. As a straight up field, or in a Matrix field. The only thing I’m getting is the following, which isn’t telling me what is wrong.

Uncaught TypeError: Property 'tmpl' of object #<Object> is not a function
    nfwp_admin.php:336
    d.extend.tmplfwp_admin.php:344

I followed the Post-Installation Best Practices

    Using EE 2.3.1

Content > Files > File Manager is working fine.

Any ideas what I need to do?

    Hi upressplay,

I’m sorry you are experiencing this and I’m going to do everything I can to get a resolution for you. Thank you for supplying your ExpressionEngine version. You mentioned Matrix, are you using any other third-party add-ons or field types that are in play here? Are these errors being displayed in the browser as PHP errors or in your debug console as javascript errors? Was this a fresh install of EE, or an update? And have you verified that the path and URL to your /themes folder is correct? Are you using the default or corporate Control Panel theme? If you are using Corporate, can you switch to the Default theme and see if the issue persists?

I know that’s a lot to answer, but I haven’t seen this come up before so I’m trying to get as much ammo as possible right up front.

    Thanks!

I have Matrix and Playa installed. Latest versions, I think. I also created channel entries that just have the url title and a file field. so I don’t think it’s a problem with Matrix or Playa.

The error noted above is in the javascript consul. No php errors that I’ve seen.

This was a fresh install and the most recent version. No updates.

Host is Dreamhost.com. Using the same Matrix and Playa versions and same host I set up another client without any issues. So, I don’t think it’s the environment.

Themes folder path looks right. I’m using the Default theme.

Could it have to do with this setting? Design > Templates > Global Preferences. I only have “/”. I’m not sure the purpose of this.

    HI upressplay,

The path for templates only comes into play of you are saving templates as files, and shouldn’t have a bearing on this issue either way. Can you try uploading a fresh copy of /themes ? Make sure you backup any items in your /themes/third_party folder first, and then restore those contents after the fresh upload. If that doesn’t sort this out, we’ll go in and have a look.

    Thanks!

I’ve replaced the themes folder several times now. Just in case, I redownloaded the ee zip file and replaced it again. Same results. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi upressplay,

I’d like to back-up a bit and see if we gathering some more information will help us find the solution for you. Please provide as much detail as possible.

    1) What exactly did you try?
    2) What did you expect to happen?
    3) What happened instead?
    4) Is this happening on the front-end or the control panel or both?

    Sean
