So after upgrading, our site works fine. All the content and images are in place. And our images uploaded by File Manager are still in place in the server in the same location. This location is also intact in the File Upload Preferences.

I see a notice in the File Manager now to “sync your directories.” Is this the answer to my problem, to getting the files to show up in File Manager again? Anything I should know or be careful about before performing this sync? Thank you.

Yes, syncing the files would be the ticket. That batch creates thumbnails for the entries as well as adds them to the database. More information can be found at http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/content/files/sync_files.html. The original files wouldn’t be altered so you are safe.

    Excellent. Thanks very much.

I performed the sync, and it worked nicely. The only issue is I didn’t check the option so that thumbnails would generate. Is there any way to recreate them after the fact? No biggie, if not. Just curious.

You should be able to run the sync again with the option and they will be created.

    Hi gcylinder,

Double-check the permissions on your image folders are set to 777 and try running sync again as caddisint suggests

Let us know if that helps

I kept trying to do this when I realized the client has taken back over and change the password back. =)

I passed the info along, and they said it worked. Thanks for the scoop.
