My currently employer is bringing all if our company websites in-house. I’m wondering what the ideal server setup would be for this. I’m running EE2. Any help would be appreciated.

The Dell R710 with vmware vsphere 5 has been incredibly stable with unparalleled support from vmware for installation, upgrades and tech issues. It is infinitely expandable with SAN. Chris

Hi Xavier,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to the forums! I’m not a web server expert, so I’m not qualified to comment on the most ideal setup. That should really be discussed with a web hosting professional since ideal is a fairly relative concept based largely upon the needs of your particular site. In general, you do want to make certain the server meets EE’s requirements.
Beyond that, I can move this thread over to Community Help, and others may be able to offer bits of advice. Would you like me to do that?

Xavier, I would be glad to help you answer that but we need to know more about your sites and the level of traffic you are receiving to make specific recommendations. Generally we run litespeed HTTP with caching on our servers with RAID 10 on the backend and 8 CPU cores. We also utilize a CDN for all our static content and have separate high-end SAS servers on the LAN for the database work.
