This question may be related to a resolved thread.
Oops—not quite resolved. My ISP notes,
Our windows server can only make permissions changes to directories, not files. Windows hosting varies a bit from Unix.
So, how should I proceed? Do I make the entire system directory read/write for everyone? Or is that too big a security risk?

Hi, PCCS. I’d just deal with editing the config.php by hand, better than making the whole directory read/write.
You might also want to consider changing hosts to Unix if this remains an issue.

Hi, PCCS -
The config.php file needs to be readable and writable - how that is done on Windows si something your server admin should be able to help with so that you needn’t update it by hand, but we’re not really able to offer support for server administration. It is true that this tends to be much easier on *NIX setups than IIS.
