Setting up EE 2.1.3 site and when I go to File Manager, I can usually upload one file then get an error saying “You did not select a file to upload” for every other file I try to upload. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi DreamProducer.
Upgrade to EE2.3.1 - that problem was fixed in later versions.

Thanks Sue. We’ll upgrade tonight and I’ll follow up.

Sounds good.. We’ll be here.

We had problems upgrading to 2.3.1. Kept getting a 500 server config error but my sys admin found the problem before I posted; we didn’t have the HASH extension installed in PHP. You might want to put in the upgrade notes that it’s required.
Still testing the new File Manager.

Ah- yes, saw where the hash extension had come up. I talked it over with the other devs, and we’re thinking it wouldn’t be helpful to single that one out- it should be installed by default in PHP versions 5.1.2 and higher (link) and it seemed likely to lead to more confusion trying go into depth on the server setup for default extensions.
And that said- how’s the file manager shaking out for you now? I have spotted a couple of cases on 2.3.1 where a 3rd party field type could cause an issue with it. So if you run into any problems, we can check that first off.

We also had to install the CTYPE module. Working great now. Love it.
FYI, I found out that our host, Verio (big), does not by default install all the PHP modules/extensions that come in PHP v5.2.x in their Linux VPS product line.

😉 Thanks for detailing it out- it will likely help someone else out in the future. And I’ll keep an eye out- if the issue crops up for more folks we can reconsider a warning for the default modules. Always a fine line between enough detail and confusing folks.
Glad it’s working now and doing the trick for you!
