    Hi,

We have a strange issue for the editorial staff of Sydneyanglicans.net website. If they logg in via the homepage (Solspace User module) with FireFox or Chrome (OSX), they have to log off before trying to login via the back end (whatever user they trying, the EE backend refuses to log them in). Safari (OSX) does not seems to have this issue. Logging out via front end and logging in via backend is the trick.

We’ve created a few websites with over the years with User module from Solspace without any issues.

Its a very annoying bug, and I was not sure to contact EE or Solspace about this, but it seems to be a EE thing…
Any others discovered the same issue?

    Thanks for any advice

    Hi, AngMed.

Are you using Cookies Only or Cookies and Sessions for backend logins? Can you tell us which version/build of EE2.x you’re using? See EEWiki:// HowTo Determine My EE Version

    Hi,

We are using EE v2.3.1 - Build: date 20111017

For ‘Control Panel Session Type’ we are using the default ‘Cookie and Session ID’ and for ‘User Session Type’ we are using ‘Cookie only’ - See screen grab attachment.

    Thanks

Hmmm.. can you try with Cookies Only for both settings? I’d like to see if that helps.

    Sue,
I turned ‘Cookie only’ on and it worked!,
then I tried to turn Cookie and Session ID’ on again and this time it worked. Problem solved!

    Thanks Sue!

AngMed - I don’t know if that would be a permanent solution for you, but as an aside, I usually run with Cookies Only. Glad that things are working for you again. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
