    Hi All
I’m being driven mad by a bug and wanted to see if anyone could point me in the right direction (well, actually confirm or deny my suspicions).

    The problem is this:

One template group only (the one with the index file) is generating a ‘File Not Found’ page on the front end (so that’s any template within the group gets this error). This is something that has happened in the last couple of weeks. The templates are fine. All other template groups are fine. More details of course…

If I copy that template group entirely then it all works fine.
I am using Leevi Graham’s .htaccess generator but with this on or off it happens.
I can see the content on the front end if I add back in the index.php? before the group. (ie it’s nothing wrong with EE). (but don’t forget that the other template groups work without index.php and the template group list in .htaccess is set up the same way)

The site got breached a few months ago and the (insert expletive) swines put a domain redirect to a spam site. This smacks of a similar problem.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or even understand that rambling description? I’m searching all of the FTP files for the no doubt encoded redirect but I’m not sure it’s there. I’m a muppet for not setting the right security permissions. But any light of second opinion anyone in the community could offer would be mucho appreciated.

    Cheers
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

You mentioned turning off NSM .htaccess Generator in the Control Panel but did you also rename the .htaccess file which is created by that module to something else to ensure it’s still not affecting the site and see if that fixes your problem?

You would also need to place index.php back into your Admin > General Configuration setting too.

    Hi there
    Thank Marks. Some new information…

I’ve been tinkering around with the .htaccess file. The ‘File not found error’ was coming from there and I’ve slowly been removing elements to see what would happen. It transpires that the actual path (which of couse is throwing this error) is the template group name plus .jpg!

So it’s basically trying to get to templategroupname.jpg/template

I’m searching but does anyone obviously know where I’ve evidently made the mistake?

    Thanks
    Matt

    Driving me insane!!!!

    So what I’m getting is

    “Not Found
The requested URL /gcse.jpg/what_we_offer/ was not found on this server”

But I just don’t know where the dam .jpg in the template group name is coming from. I’ve disabled LG’s htaccess and renamed the .htaccess and it’ still a problem. Seriously frustrating.

Just in case anyone is out there (apart from you Mark - thanks for trying). What seemed to fix it was removing an image called gcse.jpg from my route web folder. Maybe you can’t have an image with the same name as the default template group? Why would that even matter? Was the fact it started working after this files removal a ‘co-inky-dink’. Who knows. It works now.
