I know in EE1 we had a choice, on install, of encrypting passwords with MD5 or SHA1.

I can’t find any reference to this in the EE2 documentation.

Are there choices for password encryption? If not, what is the method of encryption?

We want to share login information with another system, so I need to be sure both systems support the same encryption algorithm.

    Thanks,
    PJ

Hi, Visiluna. It’s SHA1, but if you have an import with MD5, EE will convert it on the fly to SHA1.

    Does that help?
