I need to remove all members from an old member group. It asks me to reassign the members to a new member group, but I need to delete them. Is there any way to do this? There’s over 3,000 members and deleting them by the 50 would take a long time.

quickest way would be via the db directly. Find the member group id and then delete members based on that.
NB. TAKE A DATABASE BACKUP FIRST!

Exactly what Steven said.
Back up your database first, then run this query
delete from exp_members where group_id = 3replace 3 with whatever the group_id is.

Hi Reusser Design, LLC,
As mentioned above the quickest way of doing this is with a database query but please do ensure that you have a solid database backup before performing this operation just incase anything goes wrong and then you can always get back to where you were prior to running the query.
Does the information above help at all. Are you comfortable running queries directly on your database?
Thanks to Steven and Brad for the help above.

Guys,
Thanks a ton for the responses. I was in a quick bind and I ended up deleting them all by 50s. Took a little longer than I wanted, but it helped me to stay outside the database since I’m not so familiar with it.
Feel free to close this, but hopefully one day there will be a way to do a mass delete outside of the database for novices like myself!
