Hi, am not really sure what to do, my client is complaining about the cms being very slow for them. They aren’t entirely sure, but from the screen shots it looks like they use either internet explorer 7 and internet explorer 8.

I use a mac, and have not noticed any general slowness, once or twice I have noticed quite a big slowdown in editing / adding an entry, but I put this down to server problems (it is very rare).

The problem I have is the client will only use ie7/8 the version / build is: v2.2.2 - Build: date 20110801

I was wondering is there anyone that can have a look at the back-end and maybe see if there is something wrong?

The client is beginning to say that it’s unusable for them at this moment in time - and am wondering if maybe it was an error on my part in updating from a previous version.

Any help would be really appreciated as I am a bit stuck now.

    Cheers Jonny

    Hi Jonny,

We saw a few complaints about slow-downs in the CP for users with IE7 and IE8 in previous versions, and a lot of bugs were squashed that should speed up the CP for those users in EE 2.3, our latest release. Could you upgrade your installation (after making a full backup of files and database, naturally), and let us know if that helps?

Hi I ran the update, but am not sure if I did it correctly, it says version 2.2.2 but with build date 20111011 - has something gone wrong?

The script error is still there for the edit page in ie7/8 - “A script on this page is causing your browser to run slowly…” - but it appears to be running fine in other browsers.

Am guessing I did something wrong in the update…

    Hi Jonny,

Did you have any errors when you did the update. If you tried to update to 2.3.0 then you definitely shouldn’t still be seeing 2.2.2 anywhere.

Can you revert to your backup that you made before you attempted the update and try again and if there are any errors at all of any kind then write them down and let us know what they are please.

    Thanks,

    Mark
