Some of my users can not login into my site at all. All they get is “you must submit your username and password” -error page. And after that comes the known bug-issue page (logout_in_effect) when trying to login several times.

Dunno what to do/where to look at, so help please, thanks.

    Hi Pete,

Please remember to fill your first support request post with the information we need so that we can help you right from the start.

Under which version EE is this happening? Does this site have MSM enabled? Is this a first-time install or an upgrade? If this is an upgrade, from which version and to which version did you upgrade?

If this involves a known bug, could you please find it in the bug tracker and provide a link here?

Are you able to narrow down for which members or groups of members is affected? Is this from a front-end login or the CP login? If the front-end, could you please a basic login page, like the one described in the User Guide?

Hi, support request sent earlier. Upgrade made by Robin from 1.7.1 to latest 2.2.2. MSM enabled.

This is frontend problem and it includes all member groups, even super admins. I have tested this and i have the basic login page, that comes via Forum module. Also i use the basic code in the homepage of my site.

Didnt find similar from bug tracker, but i do have the logout_in_effect problem also after i tried to login several times without no success.

I am unable to reproduce the problem myself. Could you provide some guidance that would help me reproduce the same problem you’re seeing?

I think this leads to usernames that worked with earlier version of EE. Some of my users has spaces in their username and also have ä,ö,å letters in their passwords, i think. So those two things, i think, are the problems.

One solution is, that i change their usernames and passwords, and tell them to make new passwords after logged in with details i have created. And then see if the login problem still alives?

    Pete,

You could get by with half of your solution. You can fix the problematic usernames, supply those to your users and then have them go through the forgotten password process. Is that a workable solution for you?

    Cheers,

Yep, one of reported members has already got his account working and he gets logged in. So i think this is cool,
