This question may be related to a resolved thread.
Just upgraded a site from 1.7 to 2.2 and one of my channels is set to automatically turn urls and email addresses into links. In 1.7 urls that started with either “http://” or “www.” were turned into links, but in 2.2 the “www.” addresses aren’t linked anymore. Is this expected behavior? If so, is there a way to get it back? (bonus: why was it changed?)

Hi Aaron,
I’m sorry this change caused an unexpected behavior for you. I did a quick test to verify, and you are certainly right. I can’t say why this was changed, but It seems auto-linking is only in effect for web URLs prepended with the protocol. Believe it or not, our fist-party plug-in, Auto-linker works as expected. I filled this bug report. Feel free to follow along.
