I’m creating a top ten movie list of the summer. What I would like is to have each movie as an entry using the same title for each but somehow paginate them.
Is there a way in EE to do this?

Hi Terence,
I’m sorry I’m not quite following exactly what you want to do here. You mentioned you want each movie as an entry but with the same title for each?
Just wondering why you would want the same title for different movies?
Do you possibly have an example you can show of what you are trying to achieve here?
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for answering Mark. I should make it more clear. Basically, I’m looking to do a magazine style layout with the top ten movies of the summer or for whatever season for that matter.
So what I’m looking to do is have the ability for my single entry to span multiple pages (page 1, page 2, etc). Doing research, I found that EE has this ability by using multi_field. But as I understand it, I would have to create multiple fields to do this. This doesn’t seem like it will scale very well. Unless my understanding of how it works is incorrect. Any advice or alternatives?
Thanks

Hi Terence,
Ah I see what you mean now. No you’re right ExpressionEngine doesn’t have a way built-in of doing this other than creating numerous fields however there is a 3rd party add-on called Simple Pagination which I believe should give you what you need here.
Does that help?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Terence,
Just to let you know that I quickly downloaded that plugin and it should definitely do what you need here. A great little plugin that one from a very good developer.
Let me know if you have any problems with getting it to work and I can show you some code to help you get it working.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
This works EXACTLY as I need. Thanks for the reply and your help. This should be included with EE as a standard plugin.

Hi Terence,
Excellent. Glad that helped a bit. It is a really cool add-on that one.
I’m going to move this post over to the Community Help forums so that it can stay open incase anyone else ever needs the same kind of thing too.
Thanks for letting us know it worked out for you though.
Mark
