I’m following the online user guide very close, and learning a lot along the way.  Of course there are always slight differences between what’s posted and what I’m running, but I figure it out and learn more.  Obviously, the User Guide on ExpressionEngine2 is not all the current version that I just purchased and installed this week.  What version are we on now?

For example, the User Guide says to click on “Create a New Template Group” but this is no place in what I see.  Instead I use Design->Templates->Edit->Create Group and end up where I need to be.  Not a big deal, but leaves me wondering if I’m following the User Guide for the EE2 I just purchased???

Apologies for the differences in the documentation there. As the versions are constantly changing then yes a few things will be different from time to time.

We are looking into getting the documentation up to date though and thanks for bringing this to our attention it’s much appreciated.

The current version of ExpressionEngine is Version 2.2.2 Build : 20110801. You can find this information in your downloads section of this site.
