absolute to relative paths

I am using {path='...'} for all links on a large site, and also using {title_permalink='...'} within channel entries tags.

This results in absolute links including the site URL.
However, the client would prefer root relative links instead (/template_group/template etc) so that if someone is on a https part of the site they will stay on https when they return to browsing the standard site.

Is there a way of getting {path} to product root relative links instead via setting paths in the CP or otherwise?

Could I set the site URL setting to just / instead of http://mydomain.com/ or would that interfere with some EE behaviour e.g forms etc

    Thanks for your time

Hi tidy, the easiest way to handle this would be to use one of the available third party plugins from Devot-ee.com to replace the http://domainname.com part.

This is the one I tend to use: http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/find-and-replace
