I have been through the install guide and followed the directions. I set permissions on the files and directories as stated in the directions. I get this

    ExpressionEngine Installation and Update Wizard

    The following error occurred:

Your config.php file does not appear to have the proper file permissions. Please set the file permissions to 666 (or the equivalent write permissions for your server) on the following file: expressionengine/config/config.php

The IUSR has full access to everything listed, 666 which would be everything but Full Control and 777 which us full control.

I searched through the forums and I can find anything different then what I have already read.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

    Dennis

I figured this out and thought it might be some help to people that run into this issue in the future. When changing/adding permissions on Windows 2008 R2 Full Control (777) you need to change the both “IUSR” and the “USER” accounts. Select Full Control is equivalent to 777. Selecting everything accept Full Control is roughly equivalent to 666.

    Hope that helps someone out

    Dennis,

You get extra brownie points for not just bailing on this and actually posting the fix. I will admit that we don’t get many IIS users here so any little info we can gather is a plus. Thank you for taking the time. You, my friend, rock!

Oh, and welcome to the forums 😊
