Bit confused, i need to run one main corporate site, and 12 branch sites. Do i purchase 4 MSM licenses? or 1 license with 9 additional sites? I am confused as to why, if you can purchase additional sites, you can also purchase multiple MSM licenses? Sorry to be thick.. just seems odd. Done many EE sites, just not with MSM yet. 😊

Hi Bohboh,
You can purchase multiple MSM licenses because as a web developer you may be purchasing a license on behalf of different clients or you may have 2 different hosting accounts where you wish to use MSM
So to answer your question it is the second option. You only need to buy 1 MSM license and then 9 additional sites. Note that all the branch sites if unique domains need to be on the same server as your primary domain you install MSM on
