    Hi all,

    Some facts first:
    - I’m running v2.2.2 - Build: date 20110801;
    - My comment form, looks like: {exp:comment:form channel="channel_name" url_title="{segment_3}” form_id=“makelaar_comment_form”};
    - the url is: domainname/channel/category/entry_name;
    - the whole comment section is embedded within the entry template.

    Now, when I try to comment on a entry nothing happens. The comment isn’t stored in the DB.

    I’ve been busy with this somewhat complicated site using a variety of addons, with problem after problem. So, quite fed up at the moment.

    Try taking the comments tags out of your entries tag.  I don’t think it is supposed to be nested inside of it.

    All the best!

    I don’t have the comments tag within the entries tag. I do have the whole comments section as an embed at the entry TEMPLATE.

    Eelco,

    I’m sorry for your frustration. Are you using any add-ons that change anything about the comment system? It would also be helpful if you could post the contents of your templates so we can look for clues. Be sure to use the *code* tags to aid in readability.

    Cheers,

    Looks like “I’ve” found the problem, that’s to say: Adrian from Exp:presso did.

    So here’s for the files:
    I used to have a htaccess file, found from some EE blog that, along with some other stuff, added a trailing slash after every URL. If I understood correctly, EE don’t really like this kind of URL building and with that causing some problems with POST requests. Because of that trailing slash causing EE to think of one more entry to come?

    Eelco,

    Excellent. So after making the changes to .htaccess, are you able to post comments and is everything working as you expect?

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan, yeah, everything works as expected. Though there’s still a lot of work to be done. 😉 Thanks.
