Hi folks,

I’ve recently run into an issue on a site where we can edit existing pages and listing entries but can’t create new ones all of a sudden.

We can create a new page and go through the paces and enter all of the content as normal but when we hit submit it just reloads the page instead of posting the new content. No errors show on the page at all.

At first I thought it was a database connectivity issue but the site still loads normally and we’re able to edit existing content.

We’re running ExpressionEngine 2.1.3 on the site.

History
The site was recently hacked and malicious code was added to just about every file on the server. ExpressionEngine has since been installed fresh as were all of the modules and template files. Everything is fresh and should be running normally.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. I’ve exhausted my knowledge on this.

Hi Rob,

When you say “fresh” are you meaning from a backup, or did you download a fresh copy of ExpressionEngine? Same question in regards to your add-ons. Did you have them all saved from before, or download fresh copies form the developer?

I used the most recent versions of the system as well as the modules.

Hi, robbclarke - in that restore, did you do anything with the database? Or just the files?

Also, is this happening on the back end or the front end? And does it happen in all channels?

Essentially, we’re trying to find out if this is systemic or isolated to a particular instance, and then further reduce from there so we can figure out what is going on.
