The Private Support Beta made its first appearance to the Pro Net two months ago. The response thus far has been fantastic. The main thing we’ve heard from people in the beta are that they love the login-first approach which allows the EllisLab support team instant access to get in and start helping (once it is set up).
The next step for Private Support is to open it up to people outside the Pro Net. As of today, we have 10 spots available.
First, Private Support is intended for mission critical websites that drive a business or service. Personal blogs and “for fun” sites will not be considered.
Second, though free during the beta, Private Support will be a paid service with monthly and annual payment options. The price and exact model isn’t set. The purpose of the beta is to help identify how fast responses need to be and to establish a business model that makes private support a high value to those paying for it and sustainable for EllisLab to provide.
This means that during the beta we do not have guaranteed response times. We need people who will provide meaningful feedback on expectations, costs, and service to make Private Support everything it needs to be.
And third, this means we need people who are comfortable sharing potential support budgets with us and providing EllisLab access to EE installations (such as FTP, Super Admin login, etc…).
