I would like show a list of latest posts in the footer of my forum.  In the User Guide I see this: {include:recent_posts} , but I have no idea what to do with it and what works with it.

Also, how come every time I click on View Todays Posts, or Active Topics, it always displays no results?

Is there a way to get rid of those ugly messages and put it in my templates?

I know this is an old post, but did you ever get it figured out?

Yes, i am ok with most of these questions.  I would still like to know what expression engine coding doesn’t work in the forum template like it does the rest of the site, it seems if i add something like the date in the footer, i see the raw code, it doesn’t render everything as it does in the main part of the site.  So i have kept my header/ footer simple since tags don’t work the same.  Do I need to enable something ?
