This site and another like it (both multiblog) are running on version 1.6.8.

The templates (“Trifecta”) are almost as old as ExpressionEngine itself (7-8 years?).

I wonder if you could point me to a new similar theme that would allow an upgrade to EE 2?

I am happy enough with the look and the 3 columns are really vital.

Trifecta has separate templates for header, footer, left column and right column and that’s been a real boon.

    Hi Pete,

Your templates will be upgraded when you upgrade your install to EE2.x.
Do you save them as files?

There are still embeds so you have no problems there.
The syntax has changed slightly where the term weblog is now channel so that will need updating.
But overall your look will not have to change.

To apply a theme in EE it needs to be done at install time but only on a new install. It would not be applicable in your case

    Does that help?

Thanks a lot John. Amazing. A multi-blog is now a multi-channel, with not the slightest hiccup. I really didnt expect that to work.

I appreciate the change from weblog to channel. That far better reflects what they really are.

I can’t imagine a site any more without a whole lot of channels. I only run these sites for myself, but all of them have many, one is pushing toward 30, and that one should be close to 100 when done.

I am merely a summer student? Ha ha! I have been on EE since its beta which came after a lot of testing of everything else. Serious time was wasted on that. For me EE is the prefect program, and I have brought in a few other users since then.

    Hi Pete,

Your “rank” is based on posts made, not time served, I’m afraid 😉 Thanks for sticking with ExpressionEngine, we really do appreciate that!

Just to clarify, your upgrade went smoothly, and you are all set now?

    Cheers,
