Hi - created a new channel and when posting to it I noticed that it’s only giving me the option for “closed”

my other custom channels do not do this… i’ve tried to delete and re-create

Firstly try going to admin > channel admin > channels. Then go to ‘edit group assignments’ on the relevant channel, and assign it the default status group. I’ve noticed that sometimes you need to specifically assign the default group.

If its not that then it could be something to do with either your channel settings or your member group permissions (though I doubt its that as you’re probably logged in as a super admin)

    Good Luck!

    Thanks for the assist, Dave.

rkingon - that’s probably the issue - you need to make sure that each of your channels have a status group assigned to them.

Is that what the problem is?

Hi there, I don’t mean to hijack the thread but I’m having the same problem. I’m publishing/editing as a superadmin and all I get is the “closed” option. The default status group is assigned to this channel.

Same issue here.  In list of entries to edit, it will indicate OPEN, but when editing and going to Options tab, it only has CLOSED as an option in the select menu.  I’m logged in as superadmin in   EE 2.2.1

ETA:  Problem fixed after a clean install.

Hi, dirtydiva. Are you still experiencing this issue? I’ve only ever seen this when the channel didn’t have a status group associated with the channel. If you make a new status group, does it work then?

Weird - I created a new status group and assigned it as you suggested - it seems to be working fine now. My default status group must have gotten messed up somehow. Thanks!

    rkingon - what about you?

So… When I created my own status group, I was given the option of open/closed. However, open doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

I have a post that’s set to open in the publish section but when I go to the edit tab, the “Edit Channel Entries” status column still says closed. I can’t change it. Man, this upgrade has been a headache…

    Hi, dirtydiva.

What if any third party add-ons are you using?

In my third party folder, I have bridge, safecracker_file, tag, trunchtml and nsm_tiny_mce. However, I haven’t been able to get tiny_mce to work, either.

    I also have cometchat running.

Looks like it’s almost time to go in and look around. If you disable extensions in general, and turn off cometchat, does that make a difference?
