    Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the beta release of our new “Exp:resso Store” module. Only just mentioned it on twitter a day ago and already had a heap of interest & positive feedback. You can find out more on exp-resso.com/store or read about why on earth we built yet another EE e-commerce module on our blog, here. We’re currently offering an introductory beta price of $20 - this will be going up once we finish the beta so get in quick if you’re keen to try it!

Our key features are storing products as channel entries, flexible & user-friendly stock control & product variations (with a publish page variations interface that’s so good it’s actually fun!), and a comprehensive ajax-ified order management interface that blends perfectly with the EE control panel. Not to mention very easy-to-understand template tags which allow you to make great looking sites easily and quickly - for most sites you will only need 3-4 tags.

It is still a beta product so should be treated as such, but we’re already using it on a number of production website to process thousands of orders, so we are fairly confident of its stability. We’d recommend taking this opportunity to give it a trial, and let us know any feature requests (or bugs) you have, so you’re totally familiar with it in time for your next e-commerce project.

Please feel free to let us know any thoughts/questions/suggestions you have and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Anyway have fun testing, will see some of you at EECI in New York!

    Cheers,
    Dave & Adrian

It does look really nice, Dave. I gather this could be used with standard PayPal without the need for an SSL certificate?

Thanks Ralph, yep works great with standard paypal. You dont really need SSL unless you’re posting card details to your server. We just have it on ours to give people peace of mind.

Thanks Adrian. I do like some of the info on your site. I found a lot of it much more understandable than usual, so well done. The Melbourne EE user group had a meeting about EE carts a few months back, but yours wasn’t on the table yet. I look forward to the next meeting where we will throw your into the mix. Looks great to me. I love your approach of making things nice and simple. 😊

    Looks really nice.

I know you are in beta, but Just wondering… can your cart handle compound taxes? What about a multilingual site? And if not, are those features in the works?

    Thanks!

We’re out of beta now, though still lots of features to be developed of course!

We don’t currently have any support for compound taxes. It is something we could develop, although I think we would need to research a bit more how these are usually set up.

A multilingual site should be fine, while we haven’t translated any of our back-end text yet, the entire front end can be templated however you like it, so I don’t think there would be any issues here.
