    Hello Community!

    I’m having problems with spammers joining my forums and have developed a way to distinguish them from real people.

    To save time, I let people auto-activate their accounts, but they are automatically assigned a membership status of “Member2” (second class).  This class can’t post on the forums.  But they can update their profile, etc.

    In order to post, they need to send me an email, have a conversation, prove their intentions are honorable, and I upgrade them to “Members”.

    That’s working fine, but down in the stats on the forum home page, we still see all the garbage people’s names.  I’d like to just see the fresh, real, genuine people listed there.

    Looking at the templates for the forums, I see the template for visitor stats, and it looks like this is the thing I need to edit.

    <td class="tableCellOne" colspan="2"><div class="itempadbig">
    <b>{lang:newest_members}</b>
    {recent_member_names limit='10' backspace='8'}<a href="http://{path:member_profile}">{name}</a>,  {/recent_member_names}
    </div>
    </td>

    What kind of conditional statement can I insert there to have it not post the names of “Member2” folks?

    Or - better yet - are there better ways around these bogus (but human) people?  Here’s the discussion we had on our forums.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Hello!  Any suggestions on this yet?  How do I get a class of member not to show up on the visitor statistics page?

    Thanks!
