    Hi,

I have installed ee2.1 on windows server and I was told the folder images/captchas has permission write and read, but still it doesnt not come up.

Also the same I have problem with connecting to File Upload. It error says:
Thumbnail could not be created for the image. Please make sure the thumbnail directory is writable.

Is there any way I can find out what is wrong?
    The paths are ok.

    Thank you,
    Agata

    Hi, Agata.

You’ll need to make sure those folders on your server really are writable. You’ll need to have someone assist you with setting the correct permissions.

    Hi Sue,

I was dealing with hosting company and they have confirmed all the folders under images and all subfolders of images are writeable.

Also weird, that the EE error is “Thumbnail could not be created for the image. Please make sure the thumbnail directory is writable.”. But EE did created the folder for thumnail no problem. The fodler exist.

    Is there anything Im missing?

    Thank you,
    Agata

Have the hosting company double check that folder too. Windows folder permissions can be a pain.

    Hi Sue,

Yes, I did, and they got annoyed with that.

Just wonder, if the permission were not right, would EE created the folder for thumnails? Because the folder is in created….

    Thank you,
    Agata

    Hi, Agata -

Have you run the requirements wizard? I’m wondering if you have GD installed, specifically.

    Thank you!
