    Im trying to get my forum to run like this “Running the Forums Through Regular Templates”

    I have tried these instructions but it doesn’t seem to display anything but a load of characters?

    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/modules/forum/other_features.html

    {preload_replace:channels="entry-projects"}

    {embed="embeds/head"}

    {exp:channel:entries channel="{channels}" orderby="date" limit="1"}

            <title>{if home-meta-title}{home-meta-title} / {/if}{title} / {site_url_title}</title>
            <meta name="description" content="{home-meta-description}" />
            <meta name="keywords" content="{home-meta-keywords}" />

    {/exp:channel:entries}

    {embed="embeds/header"}

                    <div class="column-container">
                        {exp:forum}
                    </div>

    {embed="embeds/footer"}

    The template is in the Template Group called “projects” then the Template is called “forums”

    The settings i have set up are:

    Forum Board Label - Forum
    Forum Board Short Name - forums
    Forum URL - http://www.website.co.uk/folder/index.php/forums/
    Forum Triggering Word - forums
    Enable Forum Board - Yes

    But it just displays this:

    M10o93H7pQ09L8X1t49cHY01Z5j4TT91fGfr

    shapedesign,

    I can’t replica this on the latest EE2.2.1 build 20110705 and Forum version 3.1.5 build 20110630

    What version and build of both EE and forum are you using?

    Can you just try adding {exp:forum} on its own please?

    Hi, shapedesign,

    Is it possible to get you to update to the latest EE and Forum?  I wonder if you have these two out of sync, which is why you are seeing template markers (those strings are markers for later processing).

    Thank you.

    Hi

    I updated to:

    EE - v2.2.1 - Build: 20110705
    Forum - 3.1.5 (Although in the mod.forum.php file, it states it’s 3.1.4? but on your downloads section it said 3.1.5?)

    it seems to be working now, thanks 😊

    Probably worth checking your version numbers though, slightly confusing 😉
