Giving Admins access to register new members does not seem to work in 2.1.5 beta

I’m trying to give the group “Admins” rights to register new members in the group “Members.”  I have given Admins access to the Member section, and have unlocked the security lock for the group “Members.”

On the member registration form the “Member Group Assignment” field does not display for Admins - at first I thought this was maybe because there was only one unlocked group for them to register.  However, when trying to register a new member nothing happens, the form just does not submit.

I’m wondering if this is at all related to this bug that we found in this version?

Unfortunately, the site development is done and upgrading to 2.2 is not an option - am I overlooking something stupid or is this a bug?

    Hi, ewn.

I can certainly test this on 2.2.x for you. Remember, you shouldn’t be using betas on production sites.

How did you build the Admins group? Was it based off of the SuperAdmin group, or what exactly?

Hi Sue, yes it was built off the Admins group, with restrictions on access (such as no template access, addon access, etc).

    Hi, ewn -

In the member group preferences, did you change:

“Can change the group that a member is assigned to (Unlocked groups only)” to “yes”?
