    Hi,

We are using Expression Engine on http://www.away3d.com to allow a specific member group to publish example entries. These entries are basically examples on how to use the Flash based Away3D engine. The examples will contain an html body, a running swf that could contain external assets and a zip file containing the sources for such example.

I am wondering how to do this. Either I need to allow them to create upload destinations via their limited EE control panel and upload their swf’s, images, etc there or I need to give them access to only a specific subdirectory in the ftp.

Can you provide any advice regarding this topic?

    Thanks,
    Li

    Hi Li ,

You could use SafeCracker (available in your purchased area) which allows you to create a publish form on your frontend. You can then skin that form to match your site. It comes with a Filefield to allow members to upload files. I would recommend creating your won directory initially if you have a a lot of members

    Does that help?

    Thanks for the reply John.

Well, I’m not sure. SafeCracker would help if it allowed the creation of an upload directory on the server and uploaded a bunch of files there. Otherwise I would need to create a custom php tool, independent from EE.

    Hi, away3d.

At this point, there is no direct support for having individual file upload folder for each content provider. You’d need to roll your own at this point…
