I’ve set up about 5 simple screencast videos to place up on the client site when completed. I have a template called /help that’s only visible to logged-in clients to see them.

Now I’m running into how best to serve the videos. I obviously don’t want these publicly viewable, so Youtube embeds won’t work. I’m trying some HTML5 video stuff, but I’m not as familiar with that.

Does anyone else do this for clients, and if so, how do you handle the actual video presentation part. Flash? Something else?

    Hi Kelly,

Currently myself I’m using http://www.videojs.com as it’s really easy to setup and works with the .mp4 files that I create seamlessly. Clients are also able to watch them on their mobile devices too which is a plus.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Thanks Mark. So you only create an .mp4 file? I’ll take a look at it.
Angie Herrera on Twitter also reminded me of JW Player which I’m looking at.

Kelly,  I really like VideoJS and use it on Mijingo.com for displaying videos on the site. Example here: http://mijingo.com/products/screencasts/learning-expressionengine-2-complete-series/

Works great on iPhone, iPad, etc.

Thanks Ryan. I see you use .mov files. That’s two marks for VideoJS and one for JW Player.

I know I’m a little late to the party here, but I want to add another +1 for videoJS.  I’ve used it for several clients and it uses a wide variety of formats (mov, m4v, mp4, etc.)  It does full-screen, iOS, I couldn’t ask for more really.
