    Hello,

I was looking into developing a custom FieldType for a client. The documentation in one area seems wrong or atleast misleading.

    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/development/fieldtypes.html

The “Individual Settings” area implements a function called display_field(). Further down the page, another function is implemented, also called display_field(). This function is under the “Displaying the field (Publish Page)” area, so I assume by the name the function name is correct for this one.

What would be the function name for the individual settings page, and can it get updated?

I found my answer by looking in the google maps example. The individual settings function name is display_settings(). Please update the user guide accordingly.

    Hi Kindari,

Glad that you found a way ahead but I’m a little unclear on what you mean. The display_settings() method is described on that page. Can you clarify what you believe to be incorrect?

    Cheers

    Greg

Sorry I should have replied to this to say all was resolved and further explain to you, Greg. The problem is actually already in the bug tracker, only slightly confusing at first.

Kindari, ok so all is good then? Are you happy for me to close this thread for you?
