This question may be related to a resolved thread.

If you’re one who prefers saving templates as files, this may help:

After spending a fair amount of time troubleshooting this, I could never get EE2 to recognize any templates to sync (a great feature in 2.x) after upgrading from 1.x (1.6.9 - 2.1.3 to be exact)

Things to remember, which will get you on your way in 2.x WITH templates in the files system…

    1. Wherever your ‘templates’ directory is, remember to drop them all within a ‘default_site’ directory
    2. rename to append your template groups (folders) to mytemplategroup.group.
    3. Change all your file extensions to the EE2 extensions for proper recognition: index.php = index.html, atom.php = atom.feed, etc.

When I finally did all this, all my templates showed up and I was able to sync them to the database, which is always a smart thing to do (as mentioned by the legendary Mr. Boyink)

Lastly, I’ve become a huge fan of Mountee, which is the best of both worlds. Worth checking out.

    Hey John,

Yes, All is working great (templates, etc.).  I have a fair amount of experience with 1.x as well as 2.x, but havent had to follow that upgrade path much.  Thanks for following up. You guys are great.
