Everything is now working fine as of this morning.

    ————————————————————————————————————-

I haven’t been able to publish to a template or change anything in my account today as I get a timed out message at each attempt.  The EE is also running extremely slow.  I have attempted to publish to a template and edit pages; however, I get the same message and am unable to perform any function.  I have tried on three different computers and two different servers with the same result.  I’m using version 1.6.9.

The simple timed out message I’m getting is: Your request timed out. Please retry the request.

I know this last bit of info may not help since I can’t supply the url of the message in this post.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi paulsmarine,

    Welcome to the forums!

Glad that this now seems to be working. Have you been able to establish what the cause was?

    Cheers

    Thanks for responding Greg.

I have no indication of what could have been the problem.  I had a report that it was running slowly Friday afternoon (EST) and then Saturday, all users, including me as Admin, could access their respective areas and templates; however, no edits could be made to existing pages and no one was able to publish through the templates.  When submitted, it went directly to the time out message page.

I went in this morning and have checked all day and everything seems to be functioning normally and quickly.  Which, btw, I’m extremely happy about, especially considering it’s a weekend 😊

    Thanks again for responding!

If anyone does have an idea of what may have been the cause, I would still like to know for future reference (hopefully unneeded reference).

    Hi paulsmarine,

This all points to an issue with your host unless perhaps you and all your users are in the same office? In which case it could have been a local network problem. Are your users geographically spread? If so then I would contact the host and ask them whether there was any kind of problem during that time period.

    Cheers

We’re geographically spread.  I had somewhat assumed that it might be a host issue; however, you would think somone else in the EE world would have had the same problem considering we use Go Daddy and I’m sure we’re not alone.  I was able to access the uploads via FTP just not through EE. I agree though, it was most likely a host/their server issue.

Just another one of those pesky glitches we all must occasionally suffer through 😉

    Hi paulsmarine,

    Yep, probably 😊

We have had many reports of poor performance and other issues with GoDaddy hosting so this was most likely the problem. I’ll go ahead and close this one out but please post again if you have other problems or questions.

    Cheers

    Greg
