I’ve done this in the past with EE1.6 with little or no trouble but things seemed to have changed with 2.1

I’m using EE2.1 + MAMP to work locally.
Now I’ve moved all to the live server.
I’ve been following this tutorial: http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Move_from_Development_to_Production_on_EE_2/

When I try and access the “system folder” I get an empty screen.
Been through the upload - permissions - renamed the username/password/dadta base in the database.php file.
No entirely sure what’s supposed to go into the config.php file (Step 6 in tutorial).

But it’s slightly worrying that I’m getting a blank screen.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I’ve changed the 2 paths in the config.php file now but still nothing.

It momentarily goes to “redirect” then displays a blank screen.

I’m guessing/hoping it’s a path issue to the CP that can be easily sorted?

Safari and Firefox don’t display an error but Camino is saying:

“Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php”

system_path is blank in the index.php file - not sure if this needs corrected?

I enabled the debugger in the index.php file and got

    A Database Error Occurred
Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings.
    Filename: core/EE_Config.php
    Line Number: 180

    Hey _SiD_—

It looks like your installation can’t access your database server, and that would definitely cause the white screen with debugging turned off. Turn it on, like you did, and you’ll get that error. Could you double-check with your host the settings you should be using with your database and make sure they are correct in your ./system/expressionengine/config/database.php file?

If the settings are correct and you still seem to be having issues, look for the email from me and follow the instructions. We’ll need to get in there and see what’s going on.

    Kevin
