I have tried for several days to find a solution for my problem, but I have not found an answer, and I am running out of time and possible solutions.

All folders have permissions 777, but the images inside the folder get 644. When I upload a new image into a text area, the image is behaving fine, but if I try to put in an image already uploaded on the server, I get this code: ‘a href=“filedir_4 undefined”’ if I want to upload in a costum field, from a custom destination. It is only firedir_2 which is working. But this does not work if I want to place the same image in custom fields “file”, then it only shows the URL to the image frontend, and not the image.

Can you please help me? I really want to master this, I think everything else is great with the new version.

Now none of the filedir are working… One worked for 3-4times, and then it was the same problem: “undefined” image…

Welcome to the forums, though I’m sorry to see your first posts are with this kind of frustrating experience.

I’m having trouble replicating the problem you’re having. Could you walk me through exactly how to reproduce the error, from beginning to end, so that I can do exactly the same thing on my end? I need you to be as specific as possible. Also let me know if you’re using any kind of add-ons to try to accomplish this.

I’ll keep my eye on this so that we can resolve it for you as soon as possible.

I really do not know why this is not working for me, and I will try to explain what I have done.

Because this is my first time in EE2, I installed it with Agile records as a template. The images already uploaded here was showing in the File Manager. I made new file directorys for ‘Products’ and ’ News’, kept ‘About’ but moved it to my new location on the server, and kept Main upload directory exactly where it was. All the paths have been controlled several times, and also the permissions for the folders.

So; When uploading a new image, I can do this from my computer, and the URL is OK, and the image is showing on the site/frontend. This is when uploaded from computer to the server for the first time, and placed in a text field. And it is the same for all the directorys. BUT if I want to post the same image in another text field, it only says ‘undefined’. Also, if I try to upload an image into a cusom field ‘file’ it will not be placed. I can see the images that I have uploaded on the server, I can even look at it in File Manager by clicking it, so I do not understand why it will not work ...

Also, I installed WYGWAM, but I did not get it to work so I uninstalled it.

And the most strange thing: I could place an already uploaded image fron the directory ‘About’ for a while, but suddenly it stoped working as well.

I really hope you can help me.

Now I have asked my webhost to turn off safe mode, and hopefully this will correct it….

Hello, my host has now turned off safe mode, and now it is working! I have not tried to reinstall WYGWAM yet, but File Manager is working perfectly! 4 days of troubleshooting, and a simple solution! Thank God I’m not stupid!
