i want to create a simple html form where a user uploads a file to a directory. the file names will always be the same and current so i want the files to overwrite existing files with the same name.

i can’t figure out how to do this. i am on 1.6.9

There are Stand Alone Entry form tags available to allow your user create a new entry.
There are a number of add-ons available that allow a file upload in this form

A lot too that might work on their own. Depends what your nitty gritty requirements are
