    Hey Folks,

I know there are EE plugins available to authenticate against an LDAP server (instead of or in addition to standard EE/mySQL authentication). But I’m looking for a way to actual query an LDAP server and return data, because I want to display a user directory (from LDAP data) on a website.

Any way to do this with EE? I know PHP itself has LDAP functionality baked in, but I don’t want to go that route if possible…

Thanks in advance for any help!

There are several LDAP addons listed on Devot-ee.com.

    Hi Mike,

I’ve seen those, but as far as I can tell they just handle LDAP authentication or account creation. I don’t see anything mentioned in their descriptions about querying LDAP for data…

(Thanks for your EE resources btw—I use them all the time! Great stuff!)

Thanks for the comment - always good to hear!

I’d suggest contacting the authors of those addons.  Even if they don’t have the specific functionality you are looking for they’re probably going to be the best resource for asking deeper questions.

Good suggestion, Mike. I just emailed the two developers who have EE2 LDAP extensions.

    @ bitsculptor

Did you have any success with the Front folks?  If you found a solution, please share it with the forum.

    Thanks,
