This morning, my site all of a sudden become one giant collection of blank pages, including the admin page.

I have verified that mySQL is fine and that the apache/webserver is running (an .html file will load just fine), but EE just serves blank pages.

In fact, a plain .html document with a .php ending instead also loads fine.

No changes were made prior to the blank pages showing up.

Is this likely to be a PHP error or an EE error? Could it be a sign of tampering?

Added: Version is 1.7.0. Not sure how to get the build when I can’t access the site, but it is the 2nd most recent, I believe.

Okay, I heard back from the host.

She says that EE is somehow triggering this bug: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=37793

I made no changes before this started happening, however.

It appears that the php accelerator ended up causing a very corrupted version of index.php to be cached and served up. Not sure if this was a fluke or an incompatability that may cause further concerns?

Edited to add: To clarify, site is working now, just wanted to know if this was something we should look into further.

I’m not familiar with PHP Accelerator, Linda - and I haven’t seen this come up on our forums before. I’d say keep an eye on it and see if it becomes a recurring problem.  If not, well sometimes those gremlins wreak havoc then disappear. =)

Good to know its not something that has come up before. 😊 Will chalk this one up to gremlins for now. 😉

    Thanks. 😊
